Departure from Europe

Depart from from your home country. Overnight on flight.

Day 2

Arrival in Addis Ababa

Arrive early morning; transfer to hotel for rest. Afternoon introduction to Ethiopian coffee culture with a private tasting session. Overnight in Addis Ababa in 4 or 5 star hotel.

Day 3

Addis Ababa to Bonga (Kaffa Region)

Morning flight or drive to Bonga, heart of the Kaffa forest—the origin of Arabica coffee. Visit local coffee farms, explore wild coffee forests, and meet farmers. Participate in a traditional coffee roasting and brewing workshop. Overnight in Bonga.

Day 4

Kaffa Coffee Farms & Forest Trek

Guided trek through the Kaffa forest, observing wild coffee plants. Learn about organic coffee cultivation and conservation practices. Enjoy coffee tasting from forest-picked beans. Overnight in Bonga.

Day 5

Bonga Village Tour & Indigenous Coffee

Day 6

Bonga to Wush Wush Tea Estates

Scenic drive to Wush Wush tea farm, one of Ethiopia’s premier highland tea plantations. Guided tour of the estate: from hand-plucking to processing, see the journey of tea from leaf to cup. Afternoon tea tasting and interaction with tea farmers. Overnight at a lodge near Wush Wush estate.

Day 7

Wush Wush Tea & Coffee Plantation Tour

Morning tour of nearby coffee farms, exploring the coexistence of tea and coffee cultivation. Learn about shade-grown coffee and single-origin varieties. Afternoon tea workshop: tasting and blending exercises. Overnight at Wush Wush lodge.

Day 8

Drive to Mizan Teferi

Travel to Mizan Teferi, gateway to Bench Maji zone. Visit local coffee farms and processing units, meet cooperative members. Overnight in Mizan Teferi.

Day 9

Bench Maji Coffee & Local Communities

Explore Bench Maji indigenous coffee farms and forests. Participate in coffee picking, drying, and tasting sessions. Learn about sustainable farming practices with local cooperatives. Overnight in lodge in Mizan Teferi.

Day 10

Drive to Jimma

Scenic drive to Jimma, one of Ethiopia’s historical coffee hubs. Visit the Ethiopian Coffee Research Center, learning about coffee varieties, cultivation, and research for quality improvement. Optional walking tour of Jimma city and market. Overnight in Jimma.

Day 11

Jimma to Arba Minch via SNNPR Coffee Region

Morning travel through scenic southern coffee and tea growing areas in Jimma, and experiencing hands-on coffee picking and processing. Participate in a traditional coffee ceremony with local families. Stop at smallholder coffee farms and interact with local farmers. After noon visit Aba Jifar Museum and Jimma city. Overnight in Jimma.

Day 12

Jimma Coffee Villages & Drive to Addis Ababa

Morning: Scenic drive back to Addis Ababa, passing through the lush landscapes of Oromia and the Ethiopian Highlands. Evening: Arrive in Addis Ababa and check-in at your hotel. Optional: Evening stroll or dinner in Addis. Overnight in Addis Ababa.

Day 13

Addis Ababa: Coffee Roastery & Departure

Morning: Visit a specialty coffee roastery to see modern Ethiopian coffee processing and enjoy tasting sessions. Free time for souvenir shopping and visit Merkato, the largest open-air market in Africa. Late afternoon: Transfer to Bole International Airport for your flight home.
