Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Addis Ababa

Transfer to your hotel and refresh. Sightseeing: Mount Entoto, National Museum (home of ‘Lucy’), Holy Trinity Cathedral, Ethnographic Museum, and Merkato Market, the largest in East Africa. Overnight in Addis Ababa.

Day 2

Addis Ababa to Arba Minch

Drive to Arba Minch. En route, visit Dorze Village, famous for weaving skills and elephant-shaped huts. Learn about local culture and traditional foods like Enset (false banana). Overnight in Arba Minch.

Day 3

Arba Minch to Konso and Jinka

Morning boat cruise on Lake Chamo: spot hippos, Nile crocodiles, and birds. Visit Bana Village, home to semi-nomadic people with striking clay hair caps. Explore the Ari tribe, expert potters with traditional Enset skirts. Continue to Jinka and overnight.

Day 4

Mago National Park & Mursi Tribes

Excursion to Mago National Park. Visit Mursi villages, known for lip plates and distinctive ear ornaments. Return to Jinka for lunch, then proceed to Turmi, home of the Hamer people. Overnight in Turmi.

Day 5

Turmi & Dassanech People

Drive to Omorate and meet the Dassanech people (“people of the Delta”) near Lake Turkana. Return to Turmi and overnight.

Day 6

Turmi to Konso and Arba Minch

Scenic drive through Konso and surrounding villages. Overnight in Arba Minch.

Day 7

Arba Minch to Lake Langano

Drive to Lake Langano, a beautiful spot for water activities and relaxation. En route, visit Shasemne villages and observe local life. Overnight at Lake Langano.

Day 8

Langano to Addis Ababa via Lake Ziway & Debre Zeyt

Drive past Lake Ziway, known for water lilies and birdlife. Stop for lunch at a top resort in Debre Zeyt. Evening folkloric dinner with traditional dances and coffee ceremony in Addis. Transfer to the airport for departure.
